Aluminium scrap offcuts and castings ready for grading
Why sell to us

Paid for what it is really worth.

Non-ferrous metals and high-grade alloys are where correct identification makes the biggest difference. Stainless 316 contains molybdenum and is worth more than 304. Nickel alloys such as Inconel 625 or Incoloy 825 are worth many times more than ordinary stainless steel. They can look almost identical on a scrap pile.

We identify grades from markings, certificates and testing where needed, and we price each grade separately. Surplus new alloy bar, plate and pipe with mill certificates is valued for resale first. This is common in oil & gas, desalination and process industries.

Copper and brass have their own page. Carbon steel is covered under ferrous scrap.

Pricing

What affects the price

No two lots are the same. These are the factors we look at when valuing stainless steel, aluminium & alloy scrap.

FactorWhy it matters
Alloy contentNickel, molybdenum, chromium and cobalt content drive value, so exact grade identification matters.
CertificationMill test certificates and heat numbers let new material be resold at a much better price.
SeparationA mixed pile is priced at the lowest grade in it. Sorted grades are each paid at their own rate.
FormSolids, plate and bar are worth more than turnings, swarf or heavily contaminated pieces.
Market priceNickel, aluminium and other metals follow international prices, which change daily.

What to send us

The more we know up front, the sharper the first figure. Rough numbers are fine.

  • Any grade markings, stamps or tags on the material (photograph them)
  • Mill test certificates for new or surplus stock
  • Approximate weight for each grade, or dimensions and quantities
  • Whether the material is kept separate or mixed
How it works

Four simple steps

  • Inquiry: send photos, a list or quantities by the quote form, phone or email.
  • Valuation: we reply with an indication, typically within 12 hours, and visit the site to confirm where needed.

FAQ

Stainless Steel, Aluminium & Alloy Scrap: common questions

How do you identify stainless steel and alloy grades?

We start with markings, heat numbers and certificates. Where those are missing, the grade may need to be confirmed by testing before a final price. That protects both sides from under- or over-pricing.

Is stainless steel scrap magnetic?

Austenitic grades such as 304 and 316 are generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked areas can become slightly magnetic. Some grades are magnetic, including 400-series stainless and certain duplex steels, so a magnet test alone is not enough to grade material.

Do you buy aluminium windows and profiles with glass or rubber?

Yes. Glass, rubber seals, steel screws and thermal breaks reduce the price because they have to be removed. Clean aluminium profiles are paid at a higher rate.

Do you buy small quantities of high-value alloys?

Yes. Inconel, Monel, titanium and carbide are valuable even in small quantities. Send photos of the markings and we will give you an indication quickly.
